Hi! I’m so grateful you’ve landed here. My name is Kathleen, and I am excited to share with you the practices and tools that have changed my life.

I’ve been teaching since January 2018, and in recent years, I hung up my power suit from my time as a management consultant for federal agencies and traded it in for yoga pants and a totally new adventure in life.

Yoga teaches me daily to be present with my breath and body. To find reverence for the little things. To explore discipline and freedom as co-existing necessities of living. And to always start from right now, this moment.

I love sharing this practice with others, and do my best to honor its roots and lineage. I never cease to be amazed at the incredibly precise and relevant tools yoga offers to ameliorate our modern predicaments. And, I’m in awe of the ancient people who learned and shared this practice before we ever used the scientific method.

I believe yoga is the long road. Sadhana (daily spiritual/physical practice) and bhakti (devotion, heart-led path) are what inspire me. I believe you get out of it what you put into it (it being the practice), and that showing up as our whole selves is enough.

My training includes:

  • Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 200 hour program from Spark Yoga (January 2018), E-RYT 200 (January 2023), and RYT 500 from Janet Stone’s Yoga School (May 2023)

  • SATYA Levels 1 & 2 with Prajna Yoga (February and June 2024)

  • Living Your Yoga Immersion with Judith Hanson Lasater (December 2022)

  • Laughing Lotus Advanced Bhakti Teacher Training 50 hour program in Rishikesh, India (February 2020)

  • Trauma Recovery Yoga (T.R.Y.) 20 hour program (June 2019)

In addition, some of the ways I’ve practiced and taught yoga outside of the traditional “studio” setting:

  • Private yoga (individual or small groups - email me regarding pricing/packages)

  • Breathwork/Pranayama practice

  • Meditation practice

  • Kids yoga

  • Seniors yoga + chair yoga

  • Domestic + international yoga retreats

  • Livestream yoga

  • Corporate yoga

  • Bridal showers, wedding parties, and bachelorettes

  • Coaching and 1 on 1 yoga mentorships

Testimonials

“Group yoga is the perfect healthy, mood lifting and stress relieving activity to offer employees. Having Kathleen come to our office makes it easy to include everyone and seeing others participate encourages more employees to join in. She does a great job assessing and reaching the skill level and needs of the group each time. We really look forward to our practice with Kathleen and hope to add even more sessions soon.”

“Kathleen is a great instructor who comes to our office in Bethesda, MD. I am a total beginner and not very flexible, but Kathleen does not judge and does not try to force me or any of my coworkers to do what we can’t. Instead, she encourages us to listen to our bodies and is optimistic that with time and practice, we’ll be able to achieve more advanced movements. She’s also super personable which makes the classes even more enjoyable.”

“Kathleen is a creative, kind and skillful yoga teacher. She meets students at their point of need and encourages softening when they need it and pushes them when they need that. She weaves in specific alignment cues with interesting sequences. If you want to be inspired in your practice, join Kathleen.”
